One icy day a few years ago a young man with his  young child in the back of the car stopped at the top of our very steep road and walked to the front of his car to see how icy it was. The car starting sliding down the road! The young Dad stood in front of  the car willing it not to slide down the road. Alex happened to be coming out of his  house and leapt up the road shouting “ the car will roll over you” grabbed one wheel arch whilst telling him to grab the other. They bounced the car gently down the road - until it reached our car and they could no longer take the weight so let the car gently collide into our car rather than allow the car to speed down  the hill on its own with the child in the back. The chilld cane into our house with his Dad until his mum arrived and he was absolutely fine. I dread to think what might of happened if Alex had not been there!!
